NDNAIM was founded as an email forum for AIM and its supporters. Some of the members of the forum are AIM, others are indigenous people interested in staying in touch with the movement and others are non-indigenous who are interested in finding ways to help AIM or are just interested in increasing their knowledge of AIM and its programs for helping the People.
NDNAIM is not affiliated with any AIM chapter or national organization. All members of AIM are welcome to share stories of the struggle to regain and maintain our sovereignty, to protect indigenous spirituality, to promote sobriety and to establish international recognition of our Nations.
NDNAIM's membership come from many Nations and our discussions recognize this fact. Some members live on the reservation but many do not. Still, in the spirit of the original AIM principles, NDNAIM tries to promote as much assistance and aid for the people who live within our Nations' boundaries. Because most of our Nations' People live in extreme hardship NDNAIM has established an Emergency Fund to help in a small way to ensure that funds are made available to those with the most need. Information passed on the email list helps to identify extreme conditions and hardship and the NDNAIM Emergency Fund Board strives to distribute the funds to provide emergency relief where it is most needed.
Please visit the Emergency Fund page on this website to learn more about it.
